“One of the key aspects of a Pride event like this one is community. This is an opportunity for 2SLGBTQIANB+ people in the Pembina Valley to come together, really see one another, and support one another. It is also an opportunity for our allies to stand up and show their support of our community in a very visible and public way.”
– Peter Wohlgemut
President, Pembina Valley Pride

Participants are asked to be respectful neighbours by parking at the Park, the Millenium Exhibition Centre, street parking and designated areas rather than blocking local business parking.
At Pembina Valley Pride, we strive to be as accessible as possible. Here are some things we have in place to live into that vision:
Safety of the 2SLGBTQIANB+ community (and our allies) is a top priority of Pembina Valley Pride.
Please note that, while we would love for everybody to be safe to live authentically, we recognize that this is sometimes not the case. We aren’t able to guarantee that photos taken in public places will not be published online or in publications, and we ask that you keep this in mind if your personal safety and security is a potential concern.
We have first aid provided by the Altona Fire Department, and Southern Health knows we’re going to be in the area.
Water bottles will be available at the park, free of charge.
We will have portable washrooms on site with handwashing stations. Hand sanitizer will be readily available and we encourage you to practice good hand hygiene. There is also an accessible washroom available at the park.
We encourage the use of masks, especially if you are in close proximity to others or indoors.
Leaving the town cleaner than we found it will demonstrate the character of our community. Please ensure you are leaving nothing behind.
While protesters may be present, participants are asked not to engage with them, as this day is about our community. If you feel your safety is at risk, find a volunteer and let them know.
We encourage you to wear a mask, and ask that you stay home if you aren’t feeling well or have tested positive for COVID.
Pembina Valley Pride Parade is a family friendly event. We will have face painting, sponsored by Morden Corn & Apple Festival. There is also an accessible play structure at the park for kids to play on.
We are so excited to be doing our weekly book readings again this June! Make sure you like our page on Facebook to see the readings every Sunday!
This year’s book readings are sponsored by Morden Corn & Apple.
